What is the 30% Federal Tax Credit?
- Beginning in 2023, consumers buying highly efficient wood or pellet stoves or larger residential biomass heating systems may be eligible to claim a 30% tax credit – capped at $2,000 annually – based on the full cost (purchase and installation) of the unit. The credit runs through December 31, 2023.
- Tax paying consumers can submit for this tax credit under Section
25(C) of the Internal Revenue Code (“IRC” or “tax code”) - To claim the credit, we’ll provide you a copy of the sales invoice for
your product purchase and installation, including costs for venting, floor protection, and labor. Additionally, make sure to obtain the manufacturer’s certificate demonstrating that the wood or pellet product meets the necessary requirements. - For further details, please visit www.hpba.org.
